Product Description

Regular Price $98.99, ON SALE for $59.99

"Pearly Dot" in Royal Blue

Our Ruthie Blouse is the perfect classic tailored blouse inspired by the women of WWII.  Made of a fabulous lightweight cotton chambray with cute little woven dots that is not only beautiful to look at but so comfy to wear. Perfect for everyday, a night out dancing or just hanging out with your favorite book. Whether doing their bit over seas or on the homefront in factories, at home, in the field, flying the mail, behind a typewriter or portraying them on screen; the women of WWII were a strong generation that we must never forget.  We not only want to help keep their spirit alive, but their style as well.   This blouse features:

  • Short, slightly gathered sleeves
  • White Art Deco German made buttons, reminiscent of vintage bakelite buttons.
  • A lovely woven dot chambray fabric in royal blue
  • A fun, pointed collar
  • Suitable for wear with skirts or trousers- it can be dressed up or down easily
  • Designed to be worn tucked in for a very vintage look!

I know I already left a review for this blouse, but I wanted to leave another with a picture.

It fits great, is made of nice fabric that is sewn well (the hems are double turned instead of just serged on the edges; the buttonholes are horizontal, so they don’t pull), and the styling is incredibly flattering. I love the little bit of puff at the sleeves, and I don’t usually go for that, but it just gives the perfect vintage look.

You can wear the shirt tail tucked in or out. I wore it out over a pair of white capri pants. I have a hard time matching the blue of the blouse to an appropriate bottom, though – I think I need to make some white or khaki wide legged “Smooth Sailing” trousers from the WH pattern, because I’d really like to wear this blouse more!

At any rate, I highly recommend it, or future versions made in other fabrics. I’ll buy them ALL!

My wife recently purchased the Ruthie Blouse from Wearing History and I couldn’t be happier with it. Not only is the styling classic vintage, but the fabric and local craftsmanship is of exceptional quality. It’s like I pulled this blouse out of my grandmother’s closet! What’s more, I find the Ruthie Blouse very comfortable and flattering, especially on those days I feel like channeling my inner vintage feminine side. I would recommend this to all my friends who feel like occasionally trying on their wives’ clothing while making a special delicious supper for their loving and understanding wives.

I love this blouse! The fit is spot on and oh so flattering. And the fabric is dreamy! I get loads of compliments when wearing it (which is often). I hope there are more versions of this blouse in other colors in the future.
